In the Spotlight

Victory Mission

During this time of year we reflect on the many blessings in our life and those who are less fortunate than us. Earlier this year I launched an initiative called Show-Me Solutions that highlights the generosity and good deeds of our fellow citizens. I have had the opportunity to travel around our state recognizing the wonderful work of charitable organizations with the goal of encouraging greater participation of individuals taking part in charitable organizations in their communities.

It is humbling to see the outpouring of kindness and generosity for individuals in need of assistance. On Thanksgiving morning I visited Victory Mission and helped served a warm meal to area residents who had nowhere else to go on day when many of us gather around a table with our families and friends.

Victory Mission was created during the summer of 1976 by Reverend and Mrs. Everett Cook. Victory Mission is a non-denominational organization that provides emergency and educational services that lead to long-term reconciliation, rehabilitation and re-entry to society.
